07 transmission grinding noise
I have a 2007 ram quadcab with 15,500 miles. Last year i took it in to dealer for a grinding noise, when you put it into reverse. You only hear it for about 3 seconds until it locks into reverse. They changed the transfer case. It helped alittle. It's still there, I just took it in yesterday for the same thing and they said, they didn't hear anything. It's there and only happens when the truck is fully warmed up. When the truck is cold all you hear is a click. Any ideas?
Why they would change the transfercase for a reverse problem???? Sounds like either a valve is clogged or the clutches are slipping when you put it into reverse. I'm suprised they didn't try to flush the trans? Did they check the line pressure?
I'm still confused why they changed the transfer case? Even if the transfer case is connected to the drive at all times, there would be no pressure in there to make any clunks, besides everything should be tight for clearance anyways.
