Flowmaster question

Default Flowmaster question

Hey guys I have a flowmaster cat back dual exhaust put on by previous owner, Im hearing a small back fire when i tap the accelerator while in motion, its pretty much everytime I hit the gas hard or soft, just wondering if this is normal.

It is probably the MDS turning on and off. Try driving it in tow/haul and see if it still does it. This will disable the MDS.

Then I don't know. Mine still has the stock exhaust for now. If Magnaflow ever releases the kit for the 08, I'll have a louder exhaust, but It shouldn't pop. Mine makes a little noise when cruising and then accelerating enough to kick off the mds.

my first guess would have been exactly what lxman suggested.

Second would be a restriction somewhere in the intake/exhaust system...

Sounds more like a "backpressure pop" and is normal with some catbacks....does it do it when you let off the throttle too? My ram doesn't do it with a magnaflow but i've had vehicles in the past that have. Take a vid or audio if you can and post it.

Yea...some mufflers do it some don't. Ask people around here about their catback and see which do it and which don't...replacing just the muffler is pretty cheap cost wise.

Ive got a cat back FM Delta 40 and have never had this issue. Have you check the muffler and pipes for any holes or damage?
