Air Fuel Gauge
Wouldn't an Air/Fuel gauge be another warning if something's starting to go wrong in your motor? Kinda like a preventative measure, even on stock motors? I'm seriously thinking of putting one on my '97 to monitor the engine because I pull a trailer with it most of the time. I'd think that if I notice an odd reading it would tip me off to a possible problem before there's a catastrophic failure.
I suppose it could let you know if the engine was running funny. You know if it was to rich all the time it could harm the cylinder walls by washing them out. etc. Or if it's running to lean that could do some damage as well! But I think today's ECM's you shouldn't run into that too much.
Oh, when I fix something it stays fixed. Junk 46RE auto dies, I fixed it for good with a 1-ton NV4500 5-speed and Centerforce Stage II clutch. Problem solved for good. Then the rear axle burns up. So I'm putting 4.10 gears and good bearings in it. I'm guessing the plenum gasket is gonna go soon, and probably the power steering gearbox after that so I'll have to replace it with an AGR box...
By the way I'm a Mechanical Engineer. I'm also known as Uncle Overkill when I fix stuff...
