tinting headlights?
i painted all my badges black on my truck and just got them installed again today, looks great.
i have some vht nightshades coming in the mail tomarrow for my tail lights, and was wondering if anyone has used that to tint their headlights?
my headlights are kinda oxidized i guess you could say. if i put the nightshades on there do you guys think it would hide the imperfections or emphasize them?
plus i would like the look of having the lights tinted a bit.
i will throw up some pictures tomorrow when i tint the tails.

thats funny, I called almost 30 shops around town to get my head/tail/3rd brake light tinted just today!
They do not really want to tint the lights because of the heat issue, but almost all of the shops use a "special paint" that they apply, "its very expensive to do and buy". Of course, I said "ohh yes, VHT nightshade, like $11 a can" They wanted around $100 to do it on average, and I found with a little research that it takes quite a bit of prep/sanding and skill to get it looking really good. Thats almost worth the hundred.
On the other case, you can get a sign shop to wrap vinyl over it (or do it yourself). The vinyl will hold up better and look better I think, but will not show as much light through. The translucent vinyl is not very stretchy, so it is impossible to wrap 07-08 (or 06-08?) lights but easy on the old flat style.
Call your local shops, you will definitely find someone that will do it. One layer of VHT is a smoked look, two is a tinted look, and 3 is about too dark
