okay I went and got everything together, bought all my materials and then soldered/shrink wrapped my resistors to the leds. Then after all of this I opened my curtain rods(the only ones at lowes) and they were star shaped, had fins (not smooth). Would not work, I am pissed quite a bit. By the way, Autozone has a really cool switch for $4 that is black and perfect for your cigarette lighter hole. I ran my wires through the back of it and silicon-ed the switch in, looks factory

I bought my rods from Home Depot so go check there.
Bigc9164, uh, I got some bad news but Im holding a sealed pack of 30 LEDs that I bought advertised at 55k and they are marked 55k so Im guessing they do make them larger than 28500. Again, if my camera would zoom in and get a clear enough picture I would post it

there is a company that makes pretty much all of the led's all of the company's sell and the hightest they make is the hyper white and it is 28550 to be exact. and its the type of company that only sells them in the millions. haha. but i mean that is using the hightes rated diod. and i man when they are that bright it really doesnt matter any higher. and the 55 and 77 grand ones you are talking about are the wide angle and they only count the mcd in 10% units so ur 55000mcd's are 30% wide angle and that means you divide that by about 3. but reall anything over 15,000mcd will work perfectly because my 10,000's just about did the trick.
