that center console is the easiest one i've EVER done. incredible. right below the passenger side vent (next to the center console) is a screw. take that screw out and then gently pull the center console off. There are 4 metal clips that hold it in. Unless you really crank on it, you wont break them, but it will take a small amount of force to pull the console off. Installation is the reverse (duh!)

2008 trucks have a different console than the 2004 like weedahoe did. The 2008's bezel just pulls off. First, check to see if you have screws under the bezel above the cupholders. Most 2008's I've heard do not have any... Then just grab the bezel just to the right of the instrument panel and pull firmly out - it should just pull away. I had to put my truck into 1st gear to create enough clearance for it to come out.
For a double DIN DVD head unit, you will need to buy the NAV bezel either from the dealer or find it online - I think it's about $120 from the dealer, but you'd have to check. I haven't installed a DVD head unit, but I've heard they fit right in as long as you have the correct bezel. I did swap out my stock REF radio for a RAQ radio, and it was very simple. Of course with aftermarket you will need the correct harness, but it should be pretty easy too.

You do have a screw to take out before taking off the bezel. Ebay has some nice double din bezels! I have the flip out but wish I would have gotten the stationary one.

By the way, the grass green wire coming out from the harness is to be tied into your parking brake if you only want it to work when in park. If not, you have to hook it up to a switch to reset the ground. This is a little tricky without that knowledge! Easy to do, post any questions if you have them.

Pioneer has a good new in dash out, look at them!

this should be the adapter you are looking for. it will fit din and double din sized receivers
