how to remove stock 20" wheels on a 2008 dodge ram 4x4
i took the lugnuts off and the wheels wont come off is there a wheel lock trick , i cant find it in the book. i just wanted to rotate my tires. they are factory 20" wheels on a 2008 ram slt extended cab 4x4 big horn edition. thanks for the help.
Hey, they just get stuck on sometimes.. happens with alot of vehciles.. put a lug nut back on soo its almost up against the rim and then hit the tire with a big hammer and it should pop loose.. might take a couple tires.. the lug nuts just on there so the tire doesnt come flying off with you hit it with a hammer..
Before you do ANY of that...............make SURE the truck is on axle stands so when you whack the wheels, the truck doesn't fall on you.
What I did was, sit astride the wheel on the floor and then with the soles of your feet, (wear heavy work boots when doing this) kick the tyres. First on one side of the wheel, then the other.
Rotate the wheel, then try again. With a little patience, it will pop off.
When replacing the wheel, coat the hub that contacts the back of the wheel with a slight coating of copper slip/grease. This will help for the next time you need to remove the wheel.
Hope this helps?

Ya dont worry about it.. its better you asked rather then screw around with it and possibly break something right.. Abarmby suggestions on kicking it will work also really well. Using the hammer just came to mind first cause I learned that trick at a tire shop where I used to work and most cases the vehicles up on the 4 point. Also like he said deffinately put some never seize on the hub and where the rim contacts to prevent this happening agian.. just be carefull not to get it on the studs.. Hope you got them off!
