rusted seat frame/stuck door locks
So I am putting two subjects in one thread. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram. last year the frame for the front seats started rusting. The truck has never been submerged. The frame for the back seats are fine. Anybody else had this issue?
Yesterday, my driver's side lock started not unlocking, either by hand, or with the keyless entry system. The only way to open the door is from the inside. It feels like there is temendous preasure holding the lock down. I have not modified anything in the door, and it has not been dented in any way.....

Yeah my seat frames started to get some surface rust on them. I got a sponge brush and rubbed them down with some Ospho.
If your lock isnt working then I would pull the door skin and chk the rods because it sounds like one of them has come loose.

well the seat frames are just bare metal... but if like on my truck, you cant see them anyway unless you stick your head on the floor to look underneath them.
And that already happened on my truck too, I had to replace the door latch/door lock assembly... like such brilliant little engineers as they are they actually combined the door latch mechanism with a door lock actuator. So when one thing craps out, then your forced to buy the dual purpose part even though the other functioning half still works, which is stupid because how often does a door latch fail by itself anyway.
