That's a good price for the cam. For another $125 you can get it reground into something much meaner! If you're installing it yourself, a 6.1 is a good choice. If you're paying someone for the install, then it's not worth doing.

Custom push rods run about $125. Not a lot, but double the price of 6.1 rods. It just depends where your budget is at.

It depends on your wrenching ability. It's not hard, but it is a lot of stuff to do! Yes, it will void your engine warranty!

Yeah I have a fairly set budget on this one, and since I have yet to hear anything failing when it comes down to adding the 6.1 springs and rods Im just going to go with that. As for the custom ground cam, well I want to keep it as easily tunable as possible....

A custom grind cam can actually be easier to tune then a 6.1! It all depends on what you ask for. The hotter the cam, the hotter the tune. But you can get a lot hotter than a 6.1 tune and still run (better!) on a superchips or diablo canned tune.
It has a lot to do with ramp rates and lsa. It's all way beyond me though. Give Stu over at Inertia a call.

Yeah I sent him an email the other day, I want to get their Spartan Cam with a 115LSA so I can run a canned tune from my superchips, hopefully he can do it so it makes it work right, I just dont want to drop another $500 into a new tuner and loose some of the features of the superchps that I like so much
