Check engine lights
Has anyone ever heard that a loose gas cap may set off the Check engine light? I did some research and some people say yes, and that it will shut off after a couple of restarts. I think that is the reason why and hoping it shuts off soon. I just bought the truck used and the warranty is already expired. Well, thank you for whatever advice you can give. Appreciate. Yes, sir, I did that once where i filled up and didn't tighten the cap all the way so i got the check engine light, fortunately i didn't have to go to the dealer to get the computer reset because it did turn off after a bit once i tightened the cap

Appreciate the reply. Going to have a diagnostic run today. I'm still hoping it will shut off. The roads in LA stink so I could see it being shaken loose by all the bumps. I have tightened it and we'll see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

Yes............I think it's the most common code thrown by our Hemi's.
Do a PCM "soft reset" by pulling the PCM fuse and switching the ignition to on but don't turn the truck over. Wait till all the dings finish and it will be re-set.
Or, disconect your battery for 5 mins with all your lights and hazzards switched on to drain any residuals.
Switch everything off and re-connect your battery.
This is a "cold reset" of the PCM.
You will have a rough idle for a few mins until the PCM learns the air/fuel mix etc.
The upshot is, you will have a truck that will now learn YOUR driving habits and not the person who owned it before.
It might be therefore quicker. Mine usually is.

Mine threw the code 6 months after buying it, i checked the cap multiple times but the code never went away I took it to the dealer and I imagine they reset it, because they said my cap was fine. Havent had the problem since.
