Default Ram vs. tree - pics for posterity

I decided to share with you guys some pictures of my former Ram, an '07 SCSB 3.7 that met an untimely end on Jan 1, 2008. A tree decided to fall across 6 vehicles at the apartment complex.

My Ram was totaled, as the frame was bent in front of the rear axle. Had the frame not bent, a new bed would have been all it really needed. The muffler was crushed. The truck actually drove right up the wrecker bed without any trouble. I probably could have driven it to the body shop!

The guys that removed the tree were taking bets on how the truck would drive once the tree was off...

Enjoy!

dude, what are the chances of that happening? i mean, 6 cars all in a row and the tree neatly squashes all of them. hey, you could have kept your old ram for parts. the cab looks to be in perfect condition. its always good to have a fender or a bumper lying around. im glad to hear that it didnt land on the building. hey, at least you got an upgrade now to the 4.7 slt

Yeah, had it landed on the building there is a good chance someone would've been killed. The chances of it happening must've been real slim, but the way the tree was on a hill coupled with erosion and high winds made it a perfect recipe for metal crunching.

The day was bright and sunny, just windy as all hell.

The insurance company took the truck away, so no way of keeping it for parts. I did however snag my slush mats! I had installed the freaking fog light kit about two weeks before this happened.

All cars were squashed and killed except for the Mustang! It belongs to my wife, she was my girlfriend at the time. All the Stang needed was a new hood, new windshield, and 2 new fenders and it was good as new. Still kicking it strong. She gives me hell to this day about her cockroach mustang surviving the tree and the Dodge didn't. I tell her it's because of the Dodge that the Mustang lived!

BTW, the Ram only had 4,800 miles on it when this happened. Poor truck, but I KNOW it is back on the road. The frame damage was minor, but I pushed for the truck to be totaled because, well, I wanted a V8.

And this is what happens when you overload the bed of your truck (ya got that, all you 1500/5th-wheelers?).

BTW, I've got about 8 trees that look like that surrounding my house. I cringe when the wind really picks up.

Sorry for your loss, but insurance covers it and nobody was hurt. It's all good.
