Default 20" wheels to 17"

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 in it, My brother has a 2005 Ram 1500 also with the 4.7. My truck has 20" rims and my brothers has 17". I want his 17" wheel and he wants my 20", if we were to swap the wheels would there be any damage done to both trucks, as in the rear end, transmission or anything. Any info would muchly appreciated. Thanks

make sure u put the wheels in the same place and directions they were on the original trucks so they wont wobble. and your speedometers will be off a little.

Not really necessary as long as they were rotated and grantes the alignments aren't out of whack which in that case you shouldn't swap.

Yes speedo can be off since you have 33" tires on the 20's and he prob only has 31"tires. Just beaware you'll have more fender gap unless you plan on going to a bigger tire??

Too add on to Dirtydog, unlike most aftermarket wheels, OEM wheels are hub centric so they will automatically center.

mxzformula, the only thing you'll be affected by is the speedometer. Might want to contact a dealer or tire shop to see if they can set it to your new sizes or invest in a superchip tuner.

i guess it depends on what tires both of you guys have. do you have their sizes?
definitely no damage will be done. they are both stock tires. id say go ahead and switch them but it seems your brother will be getting a better deal but you will be faster lol
