Anybody have 4" lifts?
Thinking of going with a 4 inch lift on my 07 Ram 1500. I do a fair amount of off roading and I'm pretty sure that big plastic bumper is gonna get broken quickly.
What lift did you go with and why? What kind of road manners does your truck have now that its lifted?
I'll probably stay with a tire in the 33" size because I don't think those spindly little half shafts can handle 35's and any abuse.

Did you re-gear for the bigger tires? If not, what have you noticed as far as power and mpg loss?
If I lift mine I want to re-gear and have an electric locker put in the rear end.

You would have to re-gear too to maintain some sort of power. 4.56's seems to be a popular choice around here; wish I had em.
I would put a locker in the front. I know your going to put a e-locker in, which makes driving characteristics basically the same, so you dont have to worry about that. But Ive heard that by putting a locker in the front, you see more of an off roading improvement. But this is coming from the jeeping community. There might be some disagreements with that though... lol, oh well.

6" all from a suspension lift will increase the CV angle past recommended max, but few have problems with 35's, it's 37's that seem to be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
I have the Rancho 4" lift, it's VERY well built, but costs more than the bargain end 6" lifts such as the Fabtech and ProComp. I prefer the more full look and the lower CG of the 4" kits, they tend to not get near the body lean turning off or on road that the taller kits give.
But yeah, re-gearing is a must for 35" tires...

yeah i plan on the 4.56 gears as soon as i pay of the lift, tires, and rims. i will probably also have a new lsd installed in the rear. dont think i need the locker up front cause i dont do any serious 4 wheeling
