I am also interested in trading for stock 17's + cash for my Chrome Boss 20's with Goodyear tires that are on my 04' Ram QC 4 x 4. Also would entertain an even trade for some stock 17's with AT tires on them for my truck. Please email with offers.

Wouldn't you have to change the speedometer gearing to get the correct Miles Per Hour when you switch from 20" to 17" or vice versa?

It depends on the sidewall of the tire. The 17" tire has a lot more sidewall than the 20" low profile tire. I don't know for sure but I bet they are about the same overall diameter. I have heard that trucks with 20's have 3.92 rear gears, but my truck came with 17's amd has 3.55's. Does anyone know why the lower gears? Does the heavier 20" wheel cause enough decrease in performance to justify a lower gear?

while we're on topic...does anyone know the dimensions of the stock 17's? Are they 17 x 8" or 7.5" or 8.5"rims? I'm looking to get 285/60R17 tires for a wider apperance, whould these tires be ok on the stock 17's?

oh, and if you're looking to convert tire size and see how much it will affect your odometer and speedometer, here is a good site that I got from someone else here in the forum!

Hozz...my apologies also. Didn't mean to steal your opportunities. I got excited and started typing.

sig....Unfortunately I bought my truck used so I didn't get to pick the gears

locked up....sent you an email.

Does anyone know if the trucks with 20's have different shocks or sway bars? I think I read that somewhere. What would happen if I put 20's on my truck that came with 17's? Would I have a poor ride or handling problem?

20's wont change how you ride or affect your shocks.your truck may seem a bit slower, since its a bigger wheel/tire set up.my 4.7l kinda struggles now that its rollin 22's.
