Spray around where the intake meets the block. That is the most likely place of a leak. I have also been told you can do a pressure test. Check your local parts store to see what they have. The WD 40 thing is kinda old school. As for Liner's go Line-X I had one in my last truck and I loved it. I have a knock-off brand now and I really do not like it. It is a couple of years old and didn't age well. The shocks part, pull the shock out 2 bolts maybe 3 and try to compress them if it takes no effort then they are bad. Also they should spring right back out if not they are bad. If they are bad that will cause the thump are rattle depending on what is getting hit. No Shock really means no protection to the rest of the suspesion up there. Good luck

If not the shocks....what would make the front left of the truck seem lower than other areas of truck???

As for the front being at different heights it could be the torsion bars. If someone has played with them the truck would sit uneven. You could bottom them out and then start to crank them back up until the desired ride height is met. Make sure you turn them both the same amount of turns and use a reference point to insure that they are being turned the same. Also take some measurements before you start doing this. That way you know where the stock location should be. If you feel that this is the problem and you think your stuff is messed up then find someone with the same truck and measure theirs, that will give the stock height as well. A lot of guys do this to level there trucks (like me) If you go that route you will need to buy longer shocks. Good luck
