My only question is why would a couple of performance places not know about doing it this way?
Probably because they haven't spent 2 or 3 hours a day reading dodge websites for the last 4 years. lol

That's a sweet looking gauge, I bet it weren't cheap.

I grabbed one at Advance for all of $16, lighted, and the face matched my dash gauges perfectly.

Ive been thinking about this one myself. Im just wondering, what would be a better guage? Trans temp or trans pressure?

I was actually hung between three, trans temp, diff temp, or A/F ratio.

Actually thought about going the three gauge pod route, but I need the handle to pull my fat a$$ into a lifted truck. Thought very seriously about going to an aftermarket diff cover with the bung already in it and a drain plug, but I'm thinking the tranny temp is more important to monitor.

The A/F would be nice when I do the cam and custom tune, but since I'm not sure how long it'll be before I do that, I figured the $16 temp gauge was the way to go...

ok, newb here to this forum but not to dodges as some here may know me from DT but glad to be here as there is some good info.

Want to do this soon and wanted to know what you guys thought about the accuracy on the #3 test port compared to cutting the line or other methods cuz i like the test port since there's no cutting of OEM stuff, lol

test port seems accurate to me and its worth it bc all you have to do is unscrew the screw and place the adapter fitting in the test port

I put 2 sensors in, 1 in the test port and 1 in the hot cooler line. The test port reads quite a bit lower than the line. It is usually about 15 to 25 degrees cooler. You can watch the temps rise in the cooler line if the torque converter is unlocked.
