Default Chrome Mirror Cover Removal & Others...

I have just purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Hemi. It came with chrome sideview mirror covers which I would like to remove. After doing some research I couldnt find a good way of removing these covers without fear of ripping off the factory mirrors. What is a good way to remove these chrome mirror covers without damaging anything? I have already tried spraying some adhesive remover in between the factory and aftermarket mirrors but it just aint working. Also, I have a horizontal grill that is missing some hardware. I am not sure what the manufacturer of the grill is but I know that they are 3/8" (looks like self-tapping) hex head bolts with 1/4" lock washers on them. Any help with either of these two items would help me out greatly.

Heat up the mirror, the tape that sticks the two together is 3m Auto tape. It holds really good, heat is the only thing to loosen it up. Even after yanking them off you are going to have to get the residue off

See if you can work a piece of fishing line between the mirror and cover and work it back and forth while the glue is hot. Thats what we do to get the badges off, you are just going to have to work harder to get that line under there!
