Did you read my post just above yours????? I had lotsa of difficulty because i have Windows Vista which needed additional drivers before i could download the new software. I'm totally computer illiterate, so It's not that easy for a caveman like myself, however, I did get it done. But I had help with Diablo.
I did place a post and asked them if they could sticky the driver download and Mike said yes, but I haven't seen one yet. If you go to their webpage forums, do a search and it should come up. Do Vista Driver download. I have the 64bit version. There are also drivers for Mac, 128bit, and a few other oddballs.

Never used the diablo, but a tuner allows you to change various aspects of your truck, including transmission shift points, timing, governor limit, tire size, etc..

It also allows you to record data, such as 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time...And many will also service as an OBDII reader for error codes.

Edit: Sorry...you just said that...i read the thread and didnt reload...should have assumed this would be a hot topic...

Me doing that is like a kid being an astronaut...lol But i did it never the less. Once i got the driver downloaded, total time to update the tuner was like 15 minutes. Then, It took about 20 minutes to load into my truck. It kept on going through all these cycles of programming. It was a Pain.
Now, I bought mine back before Christmas. i paid $325 plus another $35??? for the Interface kit. Total was $360. They are selling now for $369 at most places without the interface kit. Basically you would be paying this guy to update the software and loa it into your truck for the cost of a upsate kit you will never use again. If you have no idea what to do, why not have him do it so he can show you how it's done. I don't understand why he would charge so much??? But it is time consuming.
I feel that Diablosport should have sent out rebate forms for interface update kits. When I bought my SCT tuner for my Mustang, it cam with everything and was already updated out of the box.
Have you not updated your tuner since you got it? Diablo has released like 4 crom updates since they released the tuner! The PC interface kit is a must have! The latest crom is awesome. It lets you adjust partial throttle shift points. That's something no other tuner can do.

I resubmit that this tuner is so easy even a caveman can do it. And yes, I read your post. The fact that you eventually mastered it is proof that a caveman can do it! lol

Great. Thanks for the inspiration....lol

I updated the software when I first got it. It was the 9r02???version. Anyways, I'm one update behind. I only bought the tuner to delete mds. That's it. The extra HP was a bonus. My truck shifts great , much better than stock. i could care less to update even though I will. I have my mustang to dick with those kinda things. I don't care about specifics on my truck.

Also, if the newest one is that great, why would this Poster need to update again?????????

They don't necessarily come from the factory with the newest crom. itmayhave been sitting on a shelf for three or four months.

Seriously bro, if you don't have the newest crom, you are missing out! I promise you it is worth the hassle to update it. Is your truck an 06? The 06's not only have user adjustable partial throttle shifts points, they have user adjustable downshifts as well! Your trans will feel better than you can imagine and drivability will be like never before.

I can't wait till superchips launches those options!!

INSTALL IT YOURSELF! it will take you 15 minutes of sitting in your truck and following on screen directions. Get either the Superchips Flashpaq, or the Diablosport Predator (I'm using the Superchips). All the the other tuners seem to be just that...other tuners.

man, i just realized you have no idea what a tuner is capable of. you're gonna smile ear to ear the first time you take it out with a tuner installed since you don't know what to expect.

MDS is only on 06+ Hemi's. It's where 4 cylinders cut out at cruising speed. it's a great idea but ir works like crap. Not enough power to keep these trucks moving through the air at any speed really. That's really the only reason i bought my tuner. To turn MDS off. 05-08 has all the functional features. Actually 05 i belive has part throttle downshift adjustments where as 07+ do not. We only have paart throttle upshift for tranny control. Since this is a tuner related topic....sorry for my ignorance peoples but, what exactly does part throttle upshift do for us?? I undersatnd about the downshift, but what about the upshift?? What's the diff between 15% and 65%. Does it mean if the pedal is 15% down to the floor the truck won't upshift? I'm a bit confused. Ohh, what does Diablo set them at as well.
