2007 Dodge 3500 Steering assembly Tie Rod end
I have a 2007 Dodge 3500 4x4 5.9 diesel. The outer tie rod end on passenger side is worn. I am told that due to a steering upgrade, I have to replace all of my front steering linkage assembly including damper and pitman arm. This is absolutely insane. I now have to spend $700-800 in parts due to one worn tie rod end. Is there any alternative to this expensive repair?
the info you are getting is correct. the tie rods are superseded to a complete kit which comes with all steering linkage. must also order new steering damper and pitman arm and hardware for damper
total for all the parts LIST price is around $550
if you want to save some $ i can order and ship this stuff out at a good discount to you

I have the same problem here, and I agree that it's insane to have to pay these prices to fix a simple tie-rod.
What the dealership told me is that when Dodge went bankrupt in the U.S. (I am in Canada) that their out-sourced companies also went bankrupt and so now they have other companies building the product.
STUPID!!!

I am in the process of buying another Dodge Diesel. My current is a 1996 2500, my new (used) is a 2006 3500. The steering is a mess: as I go around a right hand curve the steering wheel constantly moves back and forth, as though it is trying to return back to the straight position. The dealership is fixing this problem.
I understand that if the truck fits within the recall that the parts are upgraded at no cost. Can anyone confirm this? My VIN (last 9 digits) is 56G266469. I am in Canada. Also, is there a link to the list of recalls for my new 3500?
Thanks for any help.
