Will the ride be the same. Is the Hemi that much more better over the Magnum?.
The ride is very good on a 3rd gen truck. The 5.9 magnum is not very good compared with a 5.7 Hemi, the first year that I think you can get a Hemi in a 3rd gen 1/2 ton truck is 2004. In 2003 the Hemi was only available in the 3/4 or 1-ton trucks. In 2006 the Hemi was changed to the MDS version that has improved fuel economy. I owned a 2005 1/2 ton with the Hemi and I would get around 18 mpg in town and 20 on the highway.
I currently own a 2003 3/4 ton 4x4 Hemi quad cab that was purchased new in 2003 and I have had no problems with it. The MPG on the 3/4 ton trucks is worse then the 1/2 tons. My average MPG is 12-15.
