2003 Ram 4.7L
I have a friend of mine that has the above mentioned Ram.
I have searched around a little bit, and I think I already have the basics covered on this issue.
He has the 4.7 RCSB. 66,000 miles on her.
I noticed a couple of days ago, that at an idle, his truck would run really choppy. I could kinda describe it as a misfire, but not quite.
Running down the road, you don't notice it.
I have already changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, PCV valve, and have checked the cat.
What am I missing?
He is not getting a CEL light.
I am not familiar with these newer magnum motors, so any help would be appreciated.

OE, when you chipped, what tune do you run on? My friend isnt the most mechanical person in the world, so that's why I am trying to figure this out.
Since he isn't very smart when it come this kind of stuff, I really dont want to turn him loose with a programmer like that. Especially with the stock LSD still in there.
I'll check to see what the fuel pressure is the next time I am up there, and the EGR...
I dont suspect its causing damage, but it could down the road...
I also, have been trying to convince him to quit using the 91 and go back to 89 gas. I wonder if this might have anything to do with it? I doubt it, but IDK.
I dont know much about this truck except he has only put about 10,000 miles on it since he bought, the previous owners tried to do some modifications on it (that was a half assed ordeal), and the exhaust is wired up with coat hangers.
So, I am trying to get his truck back to where it needs to be, but I am amazed that he even considered buying the truck in its condidtion. At least the body is straight, and the paint is in good condition.
Ill try to post some pics up later.

Well, in trying to be politically correct, a Latino family owned this truck before so.... um yea.
I haven't had the chance to actually crawl under neath to see what's going on with it, but you can look through the rear fender well and see a ball of wire holding up the pipes.
Its a different truck thats for sure. I mean hell it has quad tips on the exhaust, and a sun roof (that has royally been screwed up).
The previous owners, didnt even bother trimming the head liner back when they installed it. All they did was kinda fold up back underneath itself, and in the process, they knocked most of the rest of the head liner down when they did it. So the head liner is hanging down too.
EDIT: Ill try the TB too.
