It's a half ton. Apart from taking forever to stop, the truck didn't seem to mind much that it was severely overloaded... In hindsight, I probably should have asked how much that pallet of sod weighed before the forklift put it in my truck...

I dont think I'd put it in that order, all the people who have asked me to help them move were guys or relatives, and I sure as hell dont want any *** from any of them...

dang man, that's a pretty good load then. i bet your axle bumpers came in handy for that one. the most i overloaded a truck before was my '69 ford half ton. i hauled a dump trailer for my boss' cement crew, my truck was about 2 inches from the ground at the rear bumper with the 6000 pounds i was towing, but the engine and tranny were fine.

In the 6 mile trip from the nursery to my house, I hit the bump stops once going over a speed bump. I was shocked at how well it handled the load. Admittedly though, it was pretty damned stupid to have 3,000 pounds in the bed. If anything had gone wrong, I would have been screwed.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Since I got my truck, I’ve helped a bunch of my friends move, some of them more than once. Plus, almost every time someone I know goes to buy something big, rather than get it delivered, I get a phone call asking if I can come and bring it to their house. And as far having to play taxi, before one of my friends got his Lincoln (he had a STi before, which, by the way, is not made for anyone over 5 feet tall), I used to have to drive all the time because I had the biggest vehicle. I used to go through a tank of gas in 1 or 2 days, and I have a 34 gallon tank. Although everyone gave me money for gas, and/or paid for food, beer/liquor, so it wasn’t too bad.

Yeah, no one I helped move lived on the first floor. Everyone had to live on the highest floor possible. And it's not fun trying to carry furniture, appliances, etc up or down 2,3 flights of stairs.

I saw a sticker on this guys truck, that I am seriously going to find, and send them to everyone on here, it said, "Just because I have a truck, Doesn't mean I'm going to move your crap!"
