yea...i'm not a fan of the pvc home-made intakes. it's like the same price as a cheap one of ebay...and sure people are gonna drop the whole, "well, i did it myself and i'm proud"...that still doesn't mean it DOESN'T look ghetto as hell

it will sound like the video above. it is the EXACT same setup i have.

and stop worrying about it sounding asian, there isn't ONE cold air intake on the market that will sound like a ricer on our trucks...not ONE.

Jeremy they have the mopar/aem clone at thepartsbin.com and autopartswarehouse.com for like 60. It says it is for an 03-04 4.7 (under the name velocity), but I don't know of any reason it won't fit an 07. I got the spectre which is a cheaper version of the mopar as well and the only difference between it and the velocity is the mounting location on the end of the tube. The only thing I had to do was get a longer coupler from home depot to make mine work.

Check out this site for people's impressions of various air filters http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php. From all I have seen oiled cotton does not filter enough dirt out to suit me, but you could always buy their kit and switch to another filter. There is also a lot of good info on there about various oils and oil filters. My recommendation would be this kit for good filtration with a similar power increase to that of k&n http://www.amazon.com/True-Flow-3050...0530524&sr=8-1
It doesn't look as cool as the open filter setups, but from what I've heard they are good kits.

I have a "HOME DEPOT" 4" PVC intake, and kept my factory filter box. The air box that sits right in front of the throttle body is the HP culprit. You could look at getting an AIRRAM intake, but he won't be producing any for a while as he's deployed. The PVC doesn't make my truck sound rice, but it is louder when I drop the hammer. [edit] It should be worth some HP also. Here's a couple pix. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ntake-dyi.html I've also wrapped it in insulation and foil tape, to keep the heat out.

get the full cold air intake with a K&N filter. Helps out a little on the power, but pulls hills easier. Can really hear it pulling air. Get an outerwear for it if you don't like cleaning em that often. I like mine.
