I'm a newbie. Not just to this forum, but to truck repairs and upgrades in general. Never been interested in that sort of thing before, but after I bought my first truck nearly 2.5 sweet years ago, I suddenly find myself with a vested interest in the finest vehicle I have ever owned or driven.

A 2006 Ram1500 SLT. I'm not much into pimping my ride, but I really am interested in keeping it running smooth and problem free. Any advice you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Now, off to search the archives.

Welcome to DF. Good choice of truck. Keep up on basic maintenance and the truck should last a long time. Good synthetic fluids will keep the truck happy too. Also, check the FAQ section and use the search feature and you'll learn a lot.

I'm with ya on being a newbie. I'm on a tight budget, but have a truck I inherited from my dad after he passed. I'd like to keep it running for the utility of it, and for the memory, but I've never done much of any automotive work myself.

Here's to not ****ing it up.

Not only will this be a good place to get your answers, but dont feel bad about asking questions of the guys at your local autoparts stroe, they will usualy be able to point you in the right direction. And Welcome both of you to DF.

Just dont **** any of the older guys off, they arent very forgiving...

Like everyone said welcome to D/F. Pretty much anything and everything you can think has been posted here or is in the FAQ section. There are some D/F'ers that get pretty po'd if you ask a ? and havent used the search option. I could care less gives me something to read and I am lazy.
