As of 5 days ago, I'm the proud new owner of a black 2008 Regular Cab ST. When my wife and I got home from the dealership, she peed on the stick and, you guessed it, knocked up.

Now I'm trying to learn everything I can about the passenger airbag situation. Of course I've heard that babies and small kids should be in the back seat, but without a back seat, I'll do what I have to do. I know that there is no passenger airbag switch on the 08, but I'm having trouble finding quality information about the sensor and how it works. Worse, I don't think I have a dashboard light that tells me when the airbag is off (at least if I do have one, I can't make it come on.) I've tried lots of different weights and positions, seatbelt fastened/unfastened, etc. Without that light, I'll never be comfortable. Does anybody out there have some help for me?

 

It works off of weight in the passenger seat. I don't know the exact lbs, but it senses if someone heavy enough to be requiring an airbag is in the seat, it turns it on.
I'm gonna say approx 75 lbs maybe?

 

Yeah, that's what I've heard, but I can't find it documented anywhere, and the manual is useless for information on this. Thanks for your reply.
