Default Biggest Size Tires

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm just learning all these things...

On my 03' Ram 4x4 Single Cab, what is the biggest size tire I can go with. Right now I have 265/70/r17. I'm keeping the rims that are on it so what is the biggest size I can get it?

Default RE: Biggest Size Tires

Assuming you have the 8.0 x 17 steel wheel, the biggest you can go is the 285/70R17. This is a 33" x 10.4 depending on the MFG. It is also roughly the same size as the stock 20" tire config on the 4x4 truck. Given that, you should be able to install these without any mods to the suspension.

If you want to go to a larger tire like 315/70R17, you have to get a wider rim >8.5".
