Default What happens to my warranty when Chrysler files bankruptcy?

Like the title says, what's up? Will the lifetime powertrain warranty be intact? What about the $3,500 additional lifetime bumper to bumper warranty I purchased? Will that be a liability? Should I cash in my $3,500 bumper to bumper warranty while I can?

I'm hoping not, cause I was planning on buying the warranty extension myself when I get my truck... *whimpers*

Guess I'll have to teach myself to be a Ram tech, and open my own shop if they close... LOL...

Cowgirl, haven't seen you here in a while. You close to having a truck?

Can you get that back? Who would you go through to even try and do that?

Funny thing, I almost thought about trying to finance one I found that I fell in love with, but I backed out of it. I haven't gotten the check yet, and I really don't want to finance anything right now, I still have money owed on the cobalt and don't need another car payment on top of bills I already have... esp with how tight things are...

Oh but DF will know when I have my truck... I got a feeling that I will have no issues finding the help (if I need it) on doing the mods and work on my truck... but I have gone crazy in learning everything I can about what I wanna buy...

Yeah, but I have been around here, I am coming up on a very big time period of change, and as it has been getting closer is why I have not been on so much... the next 6 weeks are going to be interesting and stressful...

The wife and I are going to the financial guru at the Dodge dealer who sold us the warranty. He (and my bank that backed my loan) said I could "cash it in" and it would be counted toward the principle-it would not reduce my payment, but would shorten the term of my loan.

The link below is to the Chrysler LLC that has backed the lifetime care warranty.
http://www.servicecontracts.chrysler.com/

My dad (not an expert) says that the Lifetime Care Warranty (lifetime bumper to bumper) is separate (and guaranteed by another company) and not affected by the bankruptcy. Looks like to me it WOULD be affected as Chrysler LLC holds the contract. Is Chrysler the same as Chrysler LLC? No idea.

I would have done that too, but the lifetime bumper to bumper was hard to pass up vs. the 7 year 100k offered by the credit union.
