There is a way to put a hose clamp over one end of the tailgate hinge -- makes it impossible to remove the tailgate quickly.

Man that sucks. My mopar tonneau has a locking system but i never installed it. Didn't want to drill two holes in my tailgate to pop rivet the bracket on. After hearing this i might just go install it. It would make it impossible to take the tonneau or the tail gate.

I have always put a band clamp on the one end of the tailgate hinge to make it harder to get off but nothing is better than a lock. With the number of tailgates getting stolen all over the place lately and resold I think I may have to invest in one of those locks.

Thanks guys for all of the replies! I ended up finding a very nice white tailgate (matches my color) off of an '06 that had the bed liner and all right here in Tucson (craigslist). It is perfect! I will definitely keep an eye out on craigslist and ebay for my tailgate though.. If I ever happen to find mine, the persons house will have 1,000 eggs and 500 toilet paper rolls strewn across their yard!!! haha. I have the tailgate sitting in my room right now, cause I am afraid of it being stolen again!! I already ordered a bully locking tailgate handle and I will wait to put the tailgate on until I have the lock installed.. I hate thieves!!!! I think I might even put a hose clamp on the right side hinge just as an added piece of mind for me.. I recommend everyone puts a lock in their tailgate!!! As stated earlier, tailgate are VERY easy to take of. Dodge should sell the trucks with a tailgate lock..

Moral of the story.. Thieves can rot in hell!

Better go grab a lock before you kick yourself in the ***. L.I. is a pretty congested area and the economy is slow. I have a spare tire lock as well! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82203...spagenameZWD1V

A few things that can go missing very fast and easily...
Spare tire
Tailgate
even your bedliner
foglights
center caps

i don't have locks on my fog lights...lol if they want to get that crafty, well, then i'll buy a pair of HID fogs instead

I think all the criminal ways and avoid all the heart ache of loosing stuff which can get costly. I'm a recovering criminal....lmao j/k

Currently I have a bed liner on my truck that goes over the rail on the tailgate. To put the tailgate spoiler on your truck, did you have to cut into the tailgate liner, or did you just put it right over the top of the liner??

Anybody? I'm very interested in buying a tailgate spoiler to clean up the edge on my existing tailgate, but I'm unsure of how it will play out. Would the spoiler go right over the my current bed liner that goes over the lip of the tailgate? Also, how are these spoilers attached to the tailgate?

idk if the spoiler will work with the bedliner. might have to cut the top of the bedliner off but idk. i do know they have to be drilled in the tailgate and thats why im not getting one lol
