The black tube that is just straight? If so, is there a reason to purchase that, or could the flap part be welded into the system I'm having done?

So if the flap part and the straight pipe don't come welded together already, how does it get welded? Does the straight pipe have a hole in it that shows the guy where to weld the flap part into?

yea the black tube is straight but it splits off too. the part that splits off is where you attach the e-cutout. the straight pipe of it is so it goes to the muffler still when you have it closed. hoped this answered your ? i was kinda confused on what you were asking

No, I now understand.

So a sickening as it was to spend this much money, I had to order it now so it will be here before May 15th. So, I now will have a Flowmaster 50 HD exhaust from a magnaflow y-pipe, in addition to a 3" DMH exhaust cutout with the flowtech. I really didn't have the money to front to buy that, but it's the only opportunity to do it while I'm having all new piping put it in. Is there a particular part of the exhaust where I should have the cutout installed? Somewhere near where the bed meets the cab or something? Any other tips I should know to ask the exhaust shop to do.

I hope this works out well.

Thanks Bullet, glad somebody was online at midnight lol.

I'm glad I have everything in place, but I do feel sick about the money situation. I have no money left until my next paycheck on Monday. I have money in my savings account for the loan, but I told myself I wouldn't touch that. I think I'm going to have to move the exhaust appointment until June until I can catch myself back up with money.

I'm still not sure what muffler I'm going to run for my exhaust system. For the record, I canceled the DHT cutout. I figured I mine as well wait firs to see what muffler I go with, I can always have it added in later.

I have the option to run the 3"inlet/2.5" dual out 50 HD muffler, or my brother's Super 40 2.5" dual in/2.5" dual out muffler. I mean, are there any benefits to running a dual in/dual out muffler over a single inlet/dual outlet muffler? Or, does a dual inlet/dual outlet muffler cause any kind of power losses? I just want to make sure that it's not going to hurt the performance running the dual in/dual out muffler either. I have until May 15th to decide what muffler I'm going to run. If I run the 50 HD, I'll have the exhaust shop install the magnaflow y-pipe. But if I run the Super 40, I'll have the exhaust shop run new pipe starting from each stock catalytic converter. I know I've been going back and forth on this exhaust, but it's just been a PITA. I mean, what would you guys do? Run the 50 HD coming in the mail, or run my brother's dual in/dual out Flowmaster Super 40 muffler?

Lol, I told you I am the most indecisive person when it comes to choosing an exhaust, it's a terrible disease.

ok well i think you should just run the 50. just give it a try. if you dont like the sound then there is always the cutout...
