Default Ya'll talked me into it.

I just spent a sunny day making me a CAI for my ram . I did the whole thing in my dorm parking lot and it took about 4 hours. I decided to go with 3 inch metal duct tubing rather than pvc, because the winters here get to -40, and i figured that the cold plus offroad driving would break the pvc. took her out for a test drive and man, is that thing cool! my throttle used to lag by about 2 seconds, sometimes longer; not anymore. i can definitely feel a power increase on it, and it gives the engine a bit more of a throaty sound when i punch the gas.

Hey it doesnt look bad. How much did you pay total for everything? Autozone has some elbows that look pretty good if you wanted to change out the ones you have for something a bit cleaner. Just a thought. Looks good either way.

total price for the duct tubing, paint, tools and the rubber joints was 45 bucks, the air filter was 25. I like the look of the filter, and it's basically the same as a K&N. i painted the metal metallic dark gray, it looks nice when compared to the truck. i did get some runs and splotches in the paint, but i'm not concerned about it.

All you have to do now is paint the hose clamps black.

4 inch thin wall pvc with a 4 inch to 3 1/2 reduced sits right behind the head lights to remove the filter and have a track intake

then it goes into a ported throttle body

PVC wouldn't be a problem evenin the cold as long as it's schedule 40.

The only problem I see with that set-up is it sucking air on the pinch. It's not sealed there at all and is meant to actually seperate. otherwise, nice job getting everything to fit.
