sounds like he has an issue specifically with ABS plastic. i would imagine you would just burn up whatever gets into the cylinder. but maybe it causes a buildup?

ABS is what most refrigerator parts are made of, ok for cold, Not designed for high heat. PVC is much better for the extreme temps under the hood. Hot and cold.

i have read it on man forums before, must intakes are made of steel or aluminum, except K & N and im sure its a special molded plastic, not a pvc pipe intended to move wet sewage outta ur house. I dont think its gonna stand up well to the high heat under the hood
