Default That small muffler near the end of tailpipe. HEMI

I just had a Flowmaster 40 put on a few weeks ago and it has a nice rumble to it. They asked if I wanted the reasonator taken off. Which I'm assuming is that small muffler near the back axle. I told them no, leave it on for now. Should I have had it taken off? I didnt want it to be too loud where I disturb the neighbors. Am I losing performance with it still on there? Thanks

a couple of places told me to leave mine on for a slightly quieter sound. I can't see it hurting performance a lot.

With a FM 40 you didn't gain much performance. If you leave it on it will help lower the drone.

I just wonder what the stock muffler without the reasonator would have sounded like?

I just had the flowmaster 40 put on mine also. I had my resonator taken out and it sounds great. Not too loud.

Flowmaster actually hinders performance even over that gigantic muffler you pulled off. Flowmaster is for sound preference only and not flow chart friendly. Granted you don't need to flow 18,000cfm's but more does help with the Hemi.
As for the resonator, i would leave it if you still have your MDS active or you will be so irritated by the sound when MDS kicks in.

My '05 doesnt have MDS (if thats when it kicks down to 4 cyl). Is there an aftermarket muffler that has better flow? or one that is recommended for the HEMI? not really looking for loudness.

Leave your resonators and check out the Aero 3030. Sounds awesome.

+1, couldn't agree more. Try the AT3030.
