2005 Ram Hemi 1500 5.7 won't start
My wifes 2005 Ram 5.7 2wd won't start. I went to start it and it is turning over but sounds like it is very easy to turn over(like the chain was broken). I thought it was the timing chain broke and I tore it down to find the chain is not broken. It seams to turn over very easy. The only code in the PCM is PO406. I will crank it over tonight while I watch the chain this evening to see that all that is working right.
Any ideas?

have you recently chaned your plug wires and spark plugs? are they in the right firing order..... also make sure your battery is fully charged otherwise check your ignition coil see if its pumping out the juice you need to fire it up. other than that your fuel would be next to look at maybe bad gas, fuel pump, filters, no fuel bad gauge, pcm failed, any trouble codes popping up? all sorts of things could of happened so start troubleshooting. it may just be a loose cable you overlooked or didnt notice no offence ive done it before myself.
If its turning over very easy make sure you have compression. Did you recently overheat the engine or running it through deep water? what were the symptoms if any before the last shut down? Has this code been seen before and cleared or is it the 1st time you seen it? The code pertains the to EGR valve which would not keep it from running, just keep it from running well. It all comes down to the big three. Fuel, compression, spark. (at the correct time of course)
