Ball Joints or full A-arm replace??

Default Ball Joints or full A-arm replace??

I noticed that the driverside upper A-arm ball joint cover is ripped so that means I need a new one, BUT Advanced Auto has either the ball joint for 51.99 or the whole upper A-arm w/ ball joint for 79.99 (Moog) or 57.99 (TRW) what would be your suggestions. I'm just leaning towards the ball joint but why offer the A-arm set up??

I guess as long as the A-arm is fine, why bother. But then how hard is it to get off and is it worth it?

Wel...first off, is the ball joint pressed into the A-Arm? If it is, its going to be more work to change out the ball joint, then to just replace the control arm.

If the ball joint is bolted into the A-Arm, then i guess you can just get the ball joint.

But 80 bucks for a moog ball joint and a new control arm is pretty cheap, just get the combo IMO. The moog is probablly greasable...i prefer them to the "lifers" but its up to you.

Like I said though, if the ball joint needs to be pressed in, you might as well get the whole arm, it will be faster to change.
