Apparently the spring in my tensioner pulley broke. Sending my serpentine belt only god knows where. How big a job is it to replace the tensioner spring pulley assembly yourself? If anyone can shed some light on how to do this I would appreciate it. In a bind, and need some help, thank you.

I'm not sure, but it may require a puller to get off which you can rent from an auto parts store. Also b/c of where the pulley is it may be a PITA, but it has to be done. Try the 3rd gen forum for more hits and help since it's kinda slow in the v6 section.

One bolt (metric socket 13 mm) holds the whole assembly in place. The cost at Advanced Auto Parts is $60 + tax. Belt will run you $15.85. When reinstalling the belt use a long arm wrench to release tension from the grooved pulley. It's a metric 15 mm.

It should take you less than 30 minutes unles you mess up the routing of the belt :P

Good luck
