Unhappy Decision Time Stock Bumper or Roll Pan

Long story short after I returned from deployment in Feb, an 08 Titan hit a durango, which hit a subaru, which hit a impala, that ended up hitting me. Everyone was alright (except for the Titan it was mangled), and the damage to my bumper is minimal but very noticable. I found out today that the damage of the accident exceeded his insurance and they are looking to give everyone a "piece" of the total pay out for all of the vehicles. Well I would imagine i am gonna get like 200 or 300 max, the body shop i went to quoted me around 700 for a new bumper (I might be able to find it cheaper but bear with me here). Naturally trying to save money i went with the 500 deductable for my insurance. My insurance company told me they would try and recoop both their expense and my ded. paying me first but no time frame.

I have been thinking about going with a roll pan instead which I could have painted and still be under the 500. My question is how much of a hassle is it to relocate the stock tow package? Is there anything else I should be thinking about other than that. Thanks for any help.

Sorry for such a long rant just had to get it out.

roll pan would be cheaper but then you would need to get a hidden hitch and get rid of the old one. this place has cheaper bumpers

First off, thanks for everything you did for us! Next, you can find several factory bumpers all over craigslist for under $200, most are in excellent condition, obviously that will let you keep your factory tow package.

Just my personal opinion, but I don't like the look of roll pans. I would go with either a stock or aftermarket bumper - I think a truck should have a real bumper.

You can't use the stock tow package with a roll pan, it sticks out past the tail gate to far. It is also a PITA to get out because you have to left the bed off the frame 5-6 inches. Then lie the roll pan up and drill all the holes. They're definitely not as easy as they say to put on, but thankfully I'm very mechanically inclined.

Here's some pics of my EFX steel roll pan

Thanks for the link they are pretty cheap there might be worth just getting a stock bumper, probably cost about the same.

Thanks for your input guys I appreciate it.

I love the roll pan on your truck makes me want one, but like bullet said not sure what it would look like with a body lift and maybe this year def next year I am gonna do a 3" suspension lift.

Yea, i probably wouldn't put one on a lifted truck. You can already see a lot more under mine with it at stock height. It would also make it difficult to use the bed at all if it were lifted
