Default Error code 9ASCAP 2007 Ram 1500

Hey all I got in the truck this morning and while driving to work saw that the check engine light was on and an error code that read 9ASCAP. can anyone tell me what that code is for please? I really don't need this now i just had my old truck in the shop getting the motor rebuilt in it.

any idea's would be very helpful thank you.

oops i put in 2007 i meant 2006

Your gascap is loose or defective. Go tighten it up.

I read that and went out and did that then started it up and it still reads the same code so i was thinking there was something else wrong.

Got the same code .. Dont know .. truck aint doing to good since 50k ..

Got to get the tranny, a/c looked at .. and off to the dealer to get a gascap .. but first to Auto zone to check codes.

I did find that the hose connected to the air cleaner box came off. I replaced that and Pulled the neg battery cable off but the code came back.

Cant tighten the cap anymore then it already is ...

Will let ya know if the new cap fixes the issue.

If I remember correctly even after you get a new cap or tighten the one you have on now you still have to go get the code cleared before it will go away. It wont go away on its own

autozone will read and clear the codes for you

Disconnecting the batter should clear all codes ...

thanks people you have been a big help and i feel like a dumb *** because after looking at it for a minute it does say gascap not 9ascap!
