Alright so I finally got the stuff to cut my exhaust this evening and can you say wow. It sounds so much better from that quiet stock exhaust. I am running a permanant cut out for now and it sounds mean. It has also passed the cop test extremely well as tonight was stop night and lots of drunk drivers. I drove past roughly 11 police officers and not a one even looked my way except to admire it.

 

Anything is better than the stock exhaust. But the Hemi does sound really nice unmuffled. If you like how it sounds driving normally, when you get a chance, if you haven’t done it already, floor it; you’ll have a smile from ear to ear. When you get it up to 4-5k, it sounds like a stock car. And as for the cops, I’ve driven by many cops, through checkpoints, etc and I’ve gotten a few looks, but that’s it. Although, I still try to step on the gas lightly when I see cops.

 

I know I went through an underpass and floored it and it was loud as hell I mainly drive reasonable but it gives a nice purr around 2-2500rpm and I do light foot it a little around cops but only reasonably because I want them to hear it too lol

One question does yours reall sound loud in the cab with windows up its not to bad but you really hear it through the floor thinking of dyno matting it for sound system and for getting rid of road noise as well and this is only temp till i get a real exhaust in about 2 months

 

Not really, I can still have a conversation without having to yell, so I don’t think it’s too loud. But that’s just me; I don’t think an exhaust can be too loud, unless it’s a 4-cylinder Honda with a Wal-Mart muffler that sounds like a lawnmower.

 

you dont have to yell by any means but amen to it not being to quiet ang trumphs any fart can by a mile

 

I would have to say stock sounding a 4.7l has the best sound to it.. at least for my 08, my buddy has an 08 hemi And it doesnt sound like it has the ***** like mine sounds.. now if only i could beat him lol...

 

I don't have to yell to have a conversation. I didn't realize I put with instead of without. I fixed it.

Dude, i cut mine off of my 4.7 and when i stomp on it holy crap man it sounds amazing... going under a bridge or some place confined like a tunnel makes it sound like a damn monster truck!
