Default Almost there...

Yayy, as of this morning on my way to work she hit 90,000 miles. Still feels as strong at 90,000 as it did when I got it at 28,000. Considering this is this first vehicle I ever owned with LESS than 100,000 miles on it when I got it, it'll be back to normal for me when it crosses the 100,000 mile mark.

Out of curiosity, since she's nearing that magical 100k mile mark, what issues (if any) have you had between the time you purchased it at 28k and now, that were not what you would consider normal maintenance issues?

1. BRAKES! - Carmax didn't know if it still had the original brakes or not, I would daresay they were because the damn things shuddered like crazy (or else they were already warrantied and were STILL ****). The fix for this was something I found on hemitruckclub, power slot rotors with hawk pads up front. Much much better. The rears had no issue at all.

2. Tires - stock Goodyear LS 275/55R20 were great for attracting nails, not getting traction, not being speed rated (112? come on!) and making me wish for better tires. They wore out quick, so I replaced them with Goodyears, but 305/50HR20's. One of the best things I did to it in terms of driving in rain and handling. Not so much for snow, but then again, its 2wd.

These are the only 2 that really stand out. I've modified it, customized it a bit, hell it took until like 85,000 miles to get my first CEL, and that went away by itself! (O2 sensor btw) I switched to synthetic on my first oil change and used it ever since, changing it every 6000 miles. I don't baby it, I drive it everywhere (got it in TX, back and forth here and there between TX, MS & FL, then one big run from MS to TX to CT, towing a 6000 lb trailer behind me, to every school the CG has sent me to from Boston to Virginia and finally here in NY). I will run anyone who wants to try, sometimes you win, sometimes you don't, but most people are surprised regardless. I'll just keep driving it until the engine dies, then a 6.1 or better is going in.
