Default does this feel over priced

went to 4 wheel parts to get a quote for getting a leveling kit installed with parts inclued and they said 530 dollars plus tax for a 2.5 kit and shocks then after that went to off road werehouse for a leveling quote but they said 350 but with a 1.5 leveling kit. you think i can get a better price for a 2.5 kit installed and with the 1.5 kit can i still fit 285s

You can get a decent set of extended shocks for about $125 and the leveling keys will run you about $100 for 2.5" set.

This is a simple install that you can do yourself. You can use a large C-Clamp to remove the keys, or rent the tool that's made specifically for it at any auto parts store for under $20, or buy it for under $100.

Other than the key removal tool, the rest of the job is basic hand tools. Then just take it in for an alignment and your done...

The going rate for my local 4x4 shop is about $400 for the 2.5" kit, four Rough Country or Pro Comp shocks installed with an alignment...

Oops, I was assuming it was a 4x4 and had torsion keys. You need poly spacers instead of leveling keys, but the prices should be about the same...

Seems kind of pricey for what you get and the amount of work actually involved. If I was in your position I would just buy the parts and install it myself.

It's a pretty involved install if you have no idea what you are doing or don't have the proper tools to complete the job!!!
With that said, parts are gonna be as Hammer explained. $125 for the shocks and $100 for the lebveling kit. That's $225. The you need an alignment when all said and done so there's another $100. Now your up to $325 without any labor coming into play.
$530-$325 for parts = $205 for labor. that's not all that bad if you ask me, especially from a known 4wheel shop. It would take someone ALL DAY if they don't know what they are doing.
The nice thing about that is, they have done hundreds probably and know exactly what to expect and have things down perfectly. Not to mention if any 1 thing goes wrong, they will fix anything that the problem effects. Where as if a shock goes that you bought and imstalled, YOU are gonna have to rip things back apart and replace it yourself AND then your gonna hve to pay another $100 for another alignment. get my point? I'd have them do it for that price. Sounds reasonable to me and I'm a total DIY'er.

I just had mine installed on my 2wd - the 2" spacers and two Fabtech shocks were $170 shipped from Fat Bob's. Install and alignment ran $210. And it looks awesome.
