There was a thread I want to say about 4-5 weeks ago mentioning a question on a live demo of the use and actual real time performance demonstration, so I got my treatment on, and not a moment too soon, the next day we had a good storm cell, and I had to drive on it.

You can hear the rain and how heavy it was... but you cant tell, I love the Rain-X

I used this stuff -

It's a sponge-like squeeze application, and then it has a buffing towel in the bottom - easiest way to apply, no mess, no fuss. I paid 2.97 at Wal-mart for it (I believe)

holy crap!!! thats the kind of stuff you dont think about when its sunny but sure wished you had on days like those!!!

 

Thats the cool thing about rain-x when you get on the highway its actually easier to not use your wipers and just let it bead up and roll off but in the city you really dont get going fast enough to go with no wipers I usually always have a coat of rain-x on because it also works wonders in the winter and doesnt let the water really freeze to the windsheild

 

I've been using Rain-X for about 15 years now and your windshield can still ice up, even with Rain-X. One thing I've learned though is to stay away from those windshield de-icers if your using Rain-X, it'll turn to a thick haze that takes a good 15 minutes to go away. Another problem I have had with Rain-X is wiper blade chatter, but the problem was alleviated by using Rain-X wiper blades or Pia silicon wiper blades.

 

I only have to go about 30 for it to start going up my windshield, then again that is the balt, and the ram windshields don't have that much of an incline as mine does

I've been using it about since it hit the market. Now I use their windshield washer fluid with the Rain-X right in it.
An added benefit is that you don't have to use your wipers near as much. I've gotten a couple years out of a set of blades where I used to have to replace them every six months or so...

 

If you wax your windows when you wax the truck it will do the same also.

 

Yep, that was SOP for the city/county vehicles like police, fire trucks, etc. in the county where I used to be the technology consultant.

I just got used to a fresh coat of being applied each time I hit the windshield washer...

 

DANG! Cow CHick, Rain X should hire you to do their advertising! Driving down the road in a rain storm and then doing a demo on how to apply it! I've used it for years and I have started using the washer fluid like HAMMER but I will for sure go out and buy some more now that COW CHICK is advertising for them!!!

 

After a Rain-X treatment, my wife keeps asking why I don't turn the wipers on in the rain. I just point to the windshield and ask, "Do you think I really need 'em yet?" Rain-X is great stuff. Lasts for months on the side and back windows.
