Default 160 bucks for a Key and key fob?!?!?

I just got done talking to dodge about getting an extra set of keys/fob for my truck because when I bought it, it only came with 1 set. They want 75 for a key, 25 to program it, 34 for a key fob, and 25 to program that!

Is there a cheaper way to do this???

Consider yourself fortunate, my mother's '08 Grand Caravan has the deal where it's all one unit and they told her at the stealership that if she ever lost a key it's over $300 to replace...

Yeah, thats how my GTO was, it was all one unit costing almost 400 to replace. But just a key and a fob for that much is crazy...

all the newer dodges are the same price, dont get ripped!!! at the most you should pay is $150, the older neon type keys with sentry (gray headed) should be around $55 at most. Anyone who wants one cheaper, i can order and ship them out UNCUT and unprogramed and prob save you %40 on the keys themselves

Does the truck really have factory security? If so, a locksmith can probably fix you up.

If not, you can get a fob off eBay for 'bout $20 and a key at Lowe's for $2

Well they key has a chip in it so I would probably have to get it at a dealer or take Madmax up on his offer...

You can get a key for $25 shipped off ebay. A fob for $30 shipped and a key/fob combo like my '08 Ram has for $65 shipped off ebay. They are $2 to cut at any hardware store but they will not guarantee the cut. I haven't ever had a problem with a hardware store sut, only places like Home Dumpo where they don't cut many keys.
Programming the remote is in the book. As long as you have 1 original key, it's easy. Or you could buy the fobb and have a locksmith cut and program them. That should only run $30
