Answers for all us 2wd guys out there!!
Ok, so today I got my 2.5" level kit put on my 2007 ram 1500 2wd, yes TWO, 2, Dose...I think you get it...anyways, I to was one who kept hearing all these stories of you will need this, it will do that...nope...I am here to tell you, with my 2.5" level kit, I mearly had to get new shocks, but if I would have gotten the 2" I would not of had to...
I'm not sure how the place I got my level kit done thru even got a 2.5 spacer, but some how they did, it was thru Pro Comp, but I did some studying on my own to confirm this before I even had it done, and the Pro Comp rep I spoke with said they did not even have a 2" for my year truck, yet I saw the box today and it specified - "2007 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd"...so it can be done all you other 2 wheel drivers out there...the shop I got it done thru said that same kit will fit 2006 - 2008.
So I hope this actually answers your questions, unlike a few other of these threads that kinda beat around the bush and you don't know whether their truck is a 2wd or 4wd...
One more thing...I am no professional when it comes to lifts and level kits, but every truck is different I suppose, and maybe a few of the 2007 or 06 or 08's actually did need new control arm spacers or something...but mine did not, still has stock ride, just sits higher and is 99.99 level...measuring 9.5" from wheel to top of wheel well in front, and 9.75 from wheel to wheel well.

My kit was $170 shipped and labor was $210, so $390 total. I did have some quotes for labor alone at $500! So, it pays to shop it around.
I had one off road shop tell me that the 2wd has some special part to replace for the alignment and the alignment alone was $250. I have never heard of that....

yea, down here in polk county florida, I searched around all the different shops who can do level kits...I got quotes from 450 (the one I went with) all the way to 700 bucks...so it def. does pay to shop around and find the best deal...and what still gets me is how they managed to find this 2.5" spacer for my truck when every other shop I spoke with said only a 1.5" was the biggest I could go...just amazing to me...
