Default 2004 4.7L Ram 1500 AC Problem

I have read amny threads and worked too many hours on this so hopefully maybe someone can bring some light. The AC works fine while moving but blows warm when sitting idle. I have noticed the AC Condenser fan was not working. I checked all fuses and relays in the fuse box and even replaced the fan motor, but the fan will still not come on. Any ideas?

When its idling and sitting still, wiggle the plug that goes into the AC unit. I had a friend who had this problem, and it was because of a bad connection in the plug.

I just tried that from your suggestion and nothing different. I am assuming you're talking about the plug going into the compressor?...right?? Thanks for the input, wish that was the problem.

Do you have a multimeter? Turn the a/c on and check for power..

I tested for power and it does have power. I also replaced the engine coolant temp sensor as the manual said that could be a cause, but it never changed a thing. This truck is getting to be more problems than it's worth. Thanks for the reply.

Additionally I had a code of P0480 come up but then left when I scanned a little while later. That was prior to me changing the ECT sensor. I still have no fan at any time. I jumped the fan to the battery and worked fine, but when hooking the cable back into it nothing.

Must be a bad ground since you're getting power and it's still not working...either that or the voltage is too low. How many volts were hitting the fan or did you just use a test light.

I just used a test light, thats all I had as my muultimeter was broke. I am just short of giving up on this thing, nothing but problems. Any ideas where to check for grounds for this. I tried tracing wires but the way they are ran almost impossible. Thanks

OK, I just used the neighbors meter and it was throwing 11/12 volts bouncing back and forth.
