It took me almost two hours to do the whole job. The hardest part by far was pulling out the wheel well liner. It did not want to come out. The instructions claimed I would have 4 bolts and I had 8 in there. They are hard to see, but after some swearing I did find them. True Flow also sent me 2 4''-3 1/2'' elbows when the directions said I had one 4x3 1/2 and one 3.5/3.5. So I took the 4'' side and clamped it over the rubber grommet that was already on the TB. So some modifications were necessary, but it was worth it when I took it out. At cruising you can faintly hear it, but once you drop the hammer it sounds like an old muscle car. That paired with the fm 50 DOR sounded great. The FM used to sound good, but now it has moved it to a whole new level. I also used the power wire in order to connect my O2 sensor. When I started her up there was no codes and I was very happy! Overall it was a great project and alot of fun! I looked ahead at my future project, headers, and they are going to be a bear. I still have to put in the 180F thermostat in soon, but dinner was going to be done soon and so it was time to wrap up shop. I had already retuned the lawn mower, installed a new trolling motor on the bass boat, and did this. Overall it was a great day. Sorry if the pictures are not the greatest, but I took them on my cell phone and texted them to my email. And below is finally a picture of my 05 ram 1500 QCSB 4x4 SLT. It was taken over the winter. I will get a new picture soon.

I liked it when I first started researching because of the specs. I did a poll here and everyone had either a K&N CAI or some sort of a gerneric one with a look a like K&N filter. I like being unique and now I think I am one of 2 3rd gens to have that intake installed in my truck. The inlet on the intake is 5 inches and that pipe is 3.5. The filter is locatated inside that gigantic chamber and it is literally a straight trough design. As for performance that thing really pulls in alot of air. When I started it with the hood open you could hear and feel it pulling in air. My fiance noticed right away that the FM50 sounded deeper and louder. So I took it out after dinner and drove it like I stole it. lol All I can say is that when I floor it that FM50 roars just as loud as my friends super 44 on a hemi with a ebay CAI and pacesetter headers. When I drive it with the radio off I can hear the intake suck in air everytime I touch the gas. It is really a unique sound; however, I am still trying to fathom how loud it is when I floor it. You cant hear a thing in the cab when it is all out and I love it. Definantly worth the money I paid for it. I still am trying to believe how big that first chamber is. When I opened up that package and pulled it out my jaw hit the floor. Everyone esle I showed it to did about the same thing. My friend has a mustang that puts 750hp to the wheels and even he was amazed at the size. All I can say is a manly truck deserves a manly intake. ;-)

As for performance I do notice a bit more pick up versus the stock one. Plus my engine is running slightly cooler, which is probably do to that and the PW combined. As for mileage I do monitor that very closely and it has been a little kinder on fuel. I drove 70 miles after getting it and I still haven't reached 7/8's full yet. So propbably around 75-80 miles on an 1/8 of a tank sounds good for me. My tank holds 30 gallons as well. I beat the hell out of the truck for the first set of miles as well and the computer read 15mpg (mine is usually .5 above) and that was for the first 45 or so miles. The next 25 I drove the truck the way I normally do and I quickly shot up to 16. Not bad considering I was hauling brush around this morning (before the CAI) and I was flooring it all around town looking for a bday gift for my mom before the stores closed at 9 (with the CAI). I can't wait to replace the OEM headers with Gibson headers, put magnaflow free flowing spun cats, a magnaflow Y-pipe, and pull off the FM50 muffler and put in the magnaflow 5x8 (14in body) muffler in. This 4.7 is going to sound sick and get close to 17-18 mpg average with a 50-50 mix of driving.
