I do like how the Super 44 sounds from outside the truck, but that drone just puts me in a bad mood. It's just way too much, it's too bad.

I've asked 21stcenturyexhaust to ship me back the Flowmaster 50 HD when they get it. When I get it back, I'll just have an exhaust shop slap that muffler in, and get rid of that damn annoying drone. Then, a little later on, I'll get that exhaust cut-out installed. Sucks to be impulsive, because you have to everything 2, 3, and sometimes 4 times over.

Nah, they "recommend" it because it is nearly double the price...

And dude, you are extremely picky. I thought you were happy with the choice. Oh well. Maybe you could add a resonator. Cheaper than switching mufflers again.

If you like the sound of the FM Super 44, but hate the drone, get a Cherry Bomb Extreme. Just as loud, nice pop and crackle under throttle, and no drone. You have no idea how much I've kicked myself for not getting the CB Extreme in the first place and wasting the time and money with the flowmaster.

I will admit, I'm dubious of the Cherry Bomb Extreme not making drone. Can you post some interior videos? I mean, I'd love to run that muffler. I want it to be loud outside the cab, but just can't stand the drone of this 44.

I'll see if I can't dig out the camera. I had the 44 before this, and it droned like mad, the Extreme doesn't, I love it.

My dads '57 chevy bel air runs dual super 44's that dump right under the back seats. until you are going about 20 you cant hold a conversation without screaming and even then your voice gets all distorted from it. but it only gets driven maybe once a week so its not too much of a problem

Didn't you try a ton of mufflers on your old truck and they were either too quiet or had too much of a drone? I think the stock muffler would be best for what you want. Just have the shop put that back on and do a y pipe after it to make it duals. It's not like the .5 hp if that you get from changing mufflers will make much of a power difference anyway.
