Default Headunit/speaker problems! Please help!!!!!

Whats up guys.. anyways a buddy of mine has an 02 ram 1500.. needless to say he had an older model headunit that took a sh**.. So since i had an extra alpine headunit i was like sure he could have it.. so yesterday i took out his old headunit and installed the alpine.. we powered it up and only the front drivers door speaker was working.. i have no idea what is wrong.. i took the headunit out to see if i mixed up any wires and all of them are correct.. i dont know what to do anymore and at this point it is very frustrating.. any help would be amazing.. thanks.. p.s we are using a wiring harness so it just makes everything that much worse.. lol..

if it has the infinity factory amp then good luck, you would be better off to run all new wires to the speakers, thats what i did. it only took about 2 hours to wire the four doors

Just a thought, did you tap into the pre-amp out lines from the wire harness on the radio instead of the rears??

I wired into my existing 4 spkr system w/ a pioneer harness and it worked without a hitch.

Before tearing more of your hair out, unhook the speaker wires and test each one with an external speaker of some kind and make sure the Alpine outputs are working on the other three channels. This will save you a little time in your troubleshooting.

I have infinity and i just bought a wire harness from best buy and all 7 of my speakers work and they sound much better than stock headuint.

... I would check door speaker connections, also i would check the headunit and make sure the speaker setting is not just faded to front speakers only. good luck.

yeah like a previous poster said...definitely. Hook that one working speaker to the other 3 not working outputs from the alpine and see if there's sound.

If yes, bad wiring - run new wire
If no, bad output from head unit / setting on head unit

audio is usually pretty easy to narrow down.
