Question Rear Sliding Window Latch

Hey all,,I think lots have been having this same problem..my rear window latch has broken..It's the smaller stationary part that fits on the fixed side of the glass.the ledge that holds it locked has snapped off. I bought a replacement one at dealer..it is somehow fused to the glass, and I cant figure on a way to attack it..I dont even think I could get a fish wire in behind it to saw at it..definitely no screws..the replacement part backing side is just a hollow 1/16" deep cavity...totally puzzled here...any help would be great..thanks

thought of and looked at that option, however, still won't be able to remove the non operating portion of this latch because it's fused to glass somehow...no screws,,no double side tape on it.....I'm screwed....I'm sure lots more of us will be with this..it's a Mopar engineering marvel..I gave the dealer the vin # and he sold me a useless replacement part.. thanks for the input

I wonder if heating it would help? too much local heat might just crack the glass though.
