Getting ready to upgrade shocks from OEM's. Is Bilstein the way to go? I used to own a Dakota QC and everyone raved about Edelbrocks...are they out now?

 

bilsteins are great and so are ranchos, most of us dak owners have switched to the ranchos, big improvement over stock

 

i have the bilsteins, and i love them. there are a few other guys on here that would agree with me too. ranchos are also a good option. not saying the edlebrock arent good, ive just never heard anything about them.

 

I have the Bilsteins on mine as well and they a far better than the stock crap that was on there.

 

The Ranchos seem interesting to me. My brother has restored his '95 F-350 (once more) and in doing so, he replaced his shocks with the Rancho "adjustable" shocks. Apparently they are supposed to adjust ride quality depending upon the setting the driver adjusts them. He's almost finished the two month long project, so I'll find out if they are any good.

 

I've always wondered about those adjustable Ranchos. Seem pretty pricey and haven't come across anyone that actually has them.

 

i believe hammer has the adjustable ones. i have the non adjustable ones, and though they are much better than stock i feel theres room for improvement and would go for bilsteins the next go around, but the next go around neither will be the choice and ill be going with KING shocks, posibly Fox Shox.

 

I ran Bilstien's on my last truck and I loved them. I really noticed a difference.

 

Last time I checked, King didn't make any shocks that fit our mounts.. Our trucks can't normally fit coil-overs or reservoir shocks, which sucks..

Fox does make mono-tube shocks that will work though, as well as Bilstein.

 

UPDATE: just got my new Rancho 9000XL's from FEDEX today. Will be installing in the next few days.
