Yep, volume is not the issue, it's weight. Payload is WAY under what you'll be carrying. Having said that, my truck is sitting alongside my house right now with 1800# of floor tile and "stuff" in the bed.
well i have an 03 4.7 with the regular bed and i had a 1/2 yard of gravel in the back with 5 100 pound bags of cement on top and i also had a trailer hooked up with another 1/2 yard of crushed limestone with another 5 100 pound bags of cement on top it handled but ill tell u my front end was so high up i could see the dodge logo on the front of my truck lol and i was going like 25 miles and hour
I have an 02 reg cab 4.7 with the 8 foot bed but mine is 2wd so the extra drop in the front helps level out the load. I have put 3000 pounds of gravel in the bed and while it did considerably drop the bed i was able to make the 30 minutes ride home doing 65 the whole way. I most diffinatly would not do this on an everyday bases but just remeber, its a truck.
